The future of Royal AM in the DStv Premiership could be under serious threat, with damning consequences should they lose their transfer ban case relating to former striker Samir Nurkovic at CAS.
Thwihli Thwahla have not been able to participate in the transfer market following a FIFA ban last year after their failure to pay Nurkovic R12 million for alleged breach of contract.
In a long drawn out saga, the KwaZulu-Natal outfit appealed FIFA's ruling at the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

While the process has been unfolding, Royal AM have struggled on the field of play in the DStv Premiership, with head coach John Maduka admitting that not being able to sign players has affected them after they survived the relegation play-offs by the skin of their teeth.
The matter involving the two parties will finally come to a conclusion within a week, as CAS are in the process of making their verdict.
Royal AM lawyers Leruma Thobejane confirmed that CAS will make a ruling on the matter anytime from now up until 15 July.
"The matter was heard on 13 May 2024 if I'm correct, we put a good case, it's up to those three arbitrators to come with the ruling. But I can tell you it was not a freeway for either Nurkovic or FIFA, it was a real contest," Thobejane said on Metro FM Sports.

"Lose or win I still believe we put a good fight, we represented ourselves with dignity and pride. I believe the arbitrators had something to think about before making a ruling.
"They requested an extended date for rendering the arbitration award, to the 15 of July, which is next week, meaning anytime we might receive the arbitral award from CAS," Thobejane added.
Kickoff has been reliably informed that Royal AM faces a six-window ban if they lose their appeal case.
This website has been led to believe that Thwihli Thwahla would struggle to raise the R12 million that they have been ordered to pay to Nurkovic and should they lose their appeal, a six-window ban would threaten their top flight status.
