The 20th edition of this eight-team competition will run from March 8-22 in Senegal, with the semi-finalists proceeding to the World Cup in New Zealand two months later.
Amajita are in Group B with Ghana, Zambia and Mali. Ahead of their trip to West Africa, the team will tour Qatar and Russia in January as part of their preparations.
Thabo Senong, the Amajita coach, lays down the plan: "The team goes into camp on January 3, 2015 with the camp running until January 27. The boys will then be going on a tour to Qatar where they will play that country's Under-22 side in a friendly match on January 10.
“From Qatar the team will then travel to Russia to play in a Commonwealth tournament in St. Petersburg. The tournament will feature 12 teams and we believe that this will be a good tour that will help the boys to gel emotionally and socially while also helping with the tactical combinations," says Senong, who has called up 24 players for this upcoming camp.
"We will have a provisional squad of 24 players going into camp and the technical team will cut down that team to 21 players who will then travel to that tour," he says.
Amajita will hold their final camp before flying out to Senegal from February 15-March 5.
"We are hoping to be one of the top four teams that reach the semi-finals and qualify for the World Cup," says Senong.
