Bafana Bafana's latest FIFA world ranking revealed

The South African national team has remained in the 68th position on the globe after world football governing FIFA revealed the latest world rankings on Thursday.

Bafana Bafana gained 2.64 points on their June tally but were unable to climb up the table following a disappointing COSAFA Cup campaign last month.

In the absence of head coach Hugo Broos, Helman Mkhalele took charge of the team but saw his side fall short at the quarter final stage, before salvaging pride with victory in the plate section.

Meanwhile, 18th-placed Senegal remain the highest-ranked African nation on the planet while Brazil have retained their status as the world's leading team.

Mauritania and Botswana, who both gained three places, were the most-improved nations while Somalia, who lost four spots, were the worst during the latest ranking period.
