The team formerly known as AmaGlug-glug have a “do or die” CAF U-23 Africa Cup of Nations clash tomorrow at Léopold Senghor Stadium after losing their opening game.
Norodien was left out of the starting line-up for Saturday’s 3-1 defeat to hosts Senegal after recovering from a slight injury.
Da Gama tells snl24.com/kickoff his troops are ready to rectify things against Zambia tomorrow and will attack from the get-go.
“Our biggest problem against Senegal was the lack of width. That’s why Norodien is definitely an option and comes into contention for a place in the first eleven,” Da Gama says.
“He and Dolly are the type of players that can provide us with the necessary width down the flanks. And we need to be attack-minded as this is a do-or-die match for us.”
Da Gama has also admitted that his technical team got it “wrong on the day” against Senegal.
“We’ve put way too much emphasis on our opposition and this played into their hands. But we as the technical team should shoulder the blame as we got it wrong on the day.
“With our two full-backs not being natural wing-backs it made life a bit difficult for going forward. But I agree with you that we definitely lacked width and we are looking to rectify this.
“Yes, we did miss players like Menzi Masuku and Gift Motupa but that is no excuse. We take full responsibility,” Da Gama concludes.
