The South Africans, who lost 3-1 to the very same opponents in the first match of the tournament, face the hosts for the remaining CAF spot at the 2016 Olympics in Rio, Brazil next year, with third place at U-23 Afcon up for grabs.
Da Gama has made two changes in his side that lost their semi-final to Algeria on Wednesday, bringing in Tshepo Rikhotso and Bidvest Wits sensation Phakamani Mahlambi, yet has shifted focus away from the individual players, insisting it is about the team.
“We want players who want to take to the field and die for the cause,” he said. “This is about the team not about individuals. Let us get the win and give the country a fantastic festive holiday.”
Da Gama insists his side need to show intensity from the start, as they look to finish the tournament on a high and reach their objective.
“From the first whistle Senegal must know it’s game on,” he said. “If you give 200 percent on the field then no one can touch us.
“We haven’t lost our objective, which is to qualify for Rio and this is the last chance we have, let us not waste it.”
Kick-off at Stade Leopold Senghor in Dakar is set for 6pm South African time.
