South Africa Under-17s to face Zambia, Nigeria

Although not all players reported for camp, Amajimbos held their first training session at the SAFA School of Excellence in Johannesburg yesterday afternoon.

They will travel to Zambia on Thursday to play a friendly against Zambia on Saturday, before returning to South Africa the following day.

The team will then remain in the local camp until they travel to Nigeria on 14 January to play a friendly against the Golden Eaglets.

Amajimbos are in Group B of the 2015 CAF African Youth Championships where they are pitted against Ivory Coast, Mali and Cameroon.

If they finish among the top four, they will qualify for the FIFA U-17 World Cup, which will be staged in Chile from 17 October – 8 November 2015.  

Group A will consists of hosts Niger, Guinea, Nigeria and Zambia.
