The short stint that Pitso Mosimane had in his job at Abha FC left him with a double miss of targets.
Priority for Mosimane was keeping Abha afloat in the Saudi Pro League, but it didn't work after his team failed to make use of the last opportunity on the last day of the season a week ago.

This meant job targets not achieved for Mosimane with Abha, who will now move back to the second-tier league after five years in the top league.
The failed mission also left the former Bafana Bafana coach with no bonuses and no muscle to push for a contract extension that would have earned him an improved package.
There was a handsome reward awaiting Mosimane had he passed the test at Abha.
Besides the financials benefits that would have come with saving Abha from the drop, the 59-year-old couldn't achieve the target of reaching 100 wins working in the Middle East.
Mosimane took up the Abha job with 92 wins up his sleeves since he left Mamelodi Sundowns four years ago to start working in the Middle East market.
At Al Ahly in Cairo, he won 65 games, then 19 at Al Ahli Saudi, before eight wins with Al Wahda (inclusive of two wins at the 2023 Arab Club Champions Cup).
From the 15 games that he oversaw at Abha, he could only win five, taking his wins in that part of the world to just three short of the 100 landmark.

If his next job doesn't come in any of the Middle East, then it will temporarily be parked on 97 wins.
Mosimane is back in South Africa with family, weighing up what option to take up next.
