Singh back to his best in Cyprus with new milestone

After enduring a challenging spell abroad in recent years, South African star Luther Singh appears to have rediscovered his form, reaching a new milestone in Cyprus.

The past few seasons have been turbulent for Singh, who had not logged more than 1,000 league minutes in a single campaign since 2020/21, according to Transfermarkt.

Now in his debut season with AEL Limassol, the 27-year-old has already clocked over 1,500 minutes of league action, establishing himself as a key figure in the Cypriot club’s setup.

Impressively, Singh has recorded the highest assist tally of his career in a single season—providing 11 assists in 29 matches across all competitions so far.

Five of those assists have come in his last five appearances, while he has also chipped in with two goals this term.

Singh joined AEL Limassol in July 2024, at a time when he was also linked with a move to South African giants Kaizer Chiefs.

His current contract runs until May 2026, according to Transfermarkt.

Given his resurgent form, Singh could bolster his chances of returning to the Bafana Bafana squad ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations—and potentially the 2026 FIFA World Cup, should South Africa qualify.
