WATCH: Mailula sends Toronto to semis in nine-goal demolition

Bafana Bafana striker Cassius Mailula proved his quality yet again as he got on the score sheet for MLS side Toronto FC when they hammered Saint Laurent 8-1 in the Canadian Championship.

Mailula scored the fourth of Toronto's eight goals early in the second half to take his contribution to two goals and one assists in three starts.

The rest of Toronto's goals came from Prince Owusu, Nathan Goulet, Derrick Etienne and Deandre Kerr, the latter registering four to his name against the semi-pro outfit.

The goal will be a significant boost for Mailula, who is still battling to stake a claim in the club's first team and is yet to get a start in an official MLS match.

Meanwhile, the win gives Toronto an impressive 11-1 aggregate scoreline over the two quarter-final legs, having defeated Laurent 3-0 in the first leg, a fixture in which Mailula registered an assist.

Next up for Toronto is a return to MLS action, where they host Cincinnati on Sunday.
