Lyle Foster's mentor has detailed how his return to the English Premier League will benefit Bafana Bafana in the upcoming FIFA World Cup qualifiers, with the next AFCON also looming.
Burnley have secured promotion back to the Premier League after defeating Sheffield United 2-1 on Monday.
Understandably, Augusto Palacios, who moulded the striker in the development ranks of Orlando Pirates, couldn't contain his excitement.
"It's great that Burnley has been promoted to the Premier League. Leeds United still has two games left in the league, but the promotion of the other four teams will go to the play-offs. This is a significant accomplishment," said Palacios.
"Lyle is growing in English football. Being promoted to the Premier League twice is very important. At just 23, he will achieve even more now that he's back in the Premier League.
"His experience will be beneficial for Bafana Bafana. It’s not easy to play in England because, at times, teams have to play three games in a week. Burnley is also treating him very well.
"Congratulations to Lyle for overcoming illness and injury. He continues to demonstrate his quality, and the coach has confidence in him. From the start of the season, they have consistently been in the top three.
"Well done, Lyle!," he continued.
Palacios adds that the 24-year-old is a hard worker and enjoys great support from his parents, sister, and family.
"I am very proud of his success, and I believe he will continue to succeed with blessings from God. He plays in a country where the stadiums are always full, and the support from the fans is tremendous.
"I expect him to perform well, score, and create goals. He must continue to make a name for himself in English football. He understands the level of competition, and he will face great teams like Liverpool, Manchester United, Manchester City, and others.
"He has a positive attitude and approach. I maintain consistent communication with him and his family, and it's a great experience."
