Ricardo Nascimento's career took him from Brazil to Portugal and Romania in his prime, but South Africa – particularly Mamelodi Sundowns – is where he still has memories that cannot be washed away by time.
Nascimento earned his stripes playing for Sundowns, where he spent five-and-a-half years, winning the Nedbank Cup, Telkom Knockout, MTN8, CAF Super Cup, CAF Champions League and five league titles.

That was a haul of eight trophies in just under six years, before he then had a short stay at Royal AM, which still has an unresolved FIFA dispute.
"It was certainly winning the titles, most of which happened in South Africa," Nascimento tells KickOff about the highlights of his playing career.
"So, I'm grateful to Pitso Mosimane and Mamelodi Sundowns for the opportunity.
"The CAF Super Cup win over TP Mazembe and the championship that we won after Kaizer Chiefs had been ahead of us is my favourite," he notes.
The 37-year-old has since called time on his playing career after a brief stint with his boyhood club Rio Branco Esporte Clube.
He has set his mind on becoming a scout, yet wishes he could have still been at Sundowns this season, with The Brazilians heading out to the Club World Cup.
The tournament in USA next year will feature the creme de la creme of Brazilian football with Flamengo, Fluminense and Palmeiras all confirmed to take part already, while a fourth club could also travel depending on what happens in the Copa Libertadores.
"This is amazing, I'm very happy for Sundowns, I wish I was still at Sundowns at this moment," he says in reference to the next Club World Cup having played at the 2016 edition.
"There is still not much interest (in South African football from Brazilians), so that is why I'm thinking of taking more players to the South African teams.
"I don't understand either (why there is little interest in the PSL in Brazil).
"I have asked everyone I know, maybe the players are afraid of disappearing from the football scene, but with Sundowns going to the World Cup, things will improve.

"I'm thinking about taking some players to South Africa.
"Maybe be a scout to help teams take more players from Brazil to South Africa," says Nascimento.
