Foster looked to have become the third South African to score in three consecutive matches after Benni McCarthy and Shaun Bartlett before his striker was chalked off by VAR.

Midfielder Sander Berge was harshly adjudged to have handled the ball in the build-up to the goal before assisting Foster.

The Bafana Bafana striker was then show a straight red card to compound his evening after swinging an elbow in the 94th minute deep into stoppage time.

The red card also means Foster now faces a three-match ban.

The Clarets picked up their first point of the season and sit in 19th position in the standings after a difficult start to their campaign with Foster now set to miss matches against Manchester United, Newcastle United and Luton Town.
