In doing so, the 22-year-old South Africa youth international followed in the footsteps of some of the country's famous exports, including none other than Bafana Bafana's record goalscorer, Benni McCarthy.

McCarthy famously represented a José Mourinho-led FC Porto during the early-to-mid 2000s and scored 46 times in 86 league appearances for the club, winning two league titles in the process.
The prolific striker was also part of the Porto side that went on to win the 2004 UEFA Champions League crown and also claimed winner's medals in the Taça de Portugal, Supertaça Cândido de Oliveira and Intercontinental Cup.
Fellow former Bafana star Eric Tinkler also called the league home during a spell with Vitória Guimarães, which was also recently the employer of the current generation's Bongani Zungu and Lyle Foster (still on the books but on loan at Westerlo).
Luther Singh, now of Danish side FC Copenhagen, also previously starred in the Primeira Liga where he represented Chaves, Moreirense and Paços de Ferreira, all on loan while contracted to Braga.
Elsewhere, Jan Lechaba had a brief stint with Beira-Mar, Mandla Zwane turned out for Penafiel and Gil Vicente, and Calvin Kadi represented Portimonense.
Apart from Kodisang, the league also presently boasts two more South Africans among its ranks, with Bafana Bafana defender Thibang Phete and countryman Sphephelo Sithole both starring for Belenenses these days.
Other SA-born stars who are not included in the gallery above:
South African-born David Júlio (born David Julius) famously represented Sporting Lisbon during the 1950s and 1960s and went on to represent the Portuguese national team on four occasions.
This is similarly the case with former Vitória Guimarães, Benfica and Sporting star Dimas Texeira who made 44 appearances for the European nation between 1995 and 2002, despite being born in Johannesburg.
