Chiefs star rings warning ahead of Arrows clash

Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Thabo Cele has rung a warning to his teammates as Amakhosi gear up to take on Lamontville Golden Arrows.

Amakhosi will be aiming to end a run of two matches without a win and collect only their ninth victory of the season. In their path is a Golden Arrows side just as desperate for a victory.

Although they sit tenth on the log table, Abafana Bes'thende are just three points above regelation threatened SuperSport United, who languish in 15th position.

Cele, one of the better performers in the Kaizer Chiefs side, has warned his teammates against underestimating the Manqoba Mngqithi led outfit.

'It's a difficult match like any other match, because we are who we are," Cele said via the club's media department.

"So when other teams play against us, we know it's going to be a difficult game.

"We know they have a good team but I feel like we are ready for it. Like I said, we are focusing on our selves more.

"While we respect them, the most important thing is to try and apply the things that we are working on here [at The Village] to try and show them in the game and hopefully, we get the three points we need so much.

"I think Golden Arrows has always been a competitive team and even now, with eh new changes. I think, from what I saw, even the games that I watch when I get a chance, I think they are a team that is becoming more a possession-based team."

A win on Saturday could take the Soweto giants as high as sixth position and one step closer to a top four finish. Meanwhile, Arrows will draw confidence from their 1-0 win over Chiefs in January.

The match will be played at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban.
