Fresh setback for Pirates defender

Olisa Ndah's return to action has been delayed after being pushed back by another setback at Orlando Pirates.

Ndah has been out of action since September due to injury but has appeared closer to action in recent weeks as he put in full shifts in training matches.

Through his absence, Pirates have had Nkosinathi Sibisi and Thabiso Sesane in central defence, with the latter's injury then paving way for the return of Tapelo Xoki, while Innocent Maela remained as a cover option.

In more recent weeks, Mbekezeli Mbokazi has bulldozed his way in and is now standing as a solid left-footed option.

Unfortunate for Ndah is that he now has to wait longer.

"Olisa has sustained a stress fracture injury after landing awkwardly during a friendly match played recently.

"The medical team will provide an update on the status of recovery in 3-4 weeks," says the club.

Pirates have also provided updates on the rest of the injured players, who include Patrick Maswanganyi, who didn't travel to Algeria due to a quad strain.

Thabiso Monyane is due to undergo rehabilitation after his hamstring issues resurfaced during a friendly match, while Zakhele Lepasa has started partial team training, though he will not be rushed with the plan being that he is integrated intermittently.

Thabiso Sesane is still in the rehabilitation stage, just like Thabiso Lebitso.
