After a long spell out for Kaizer Chiefs, Mduduzi Mdantsane has been as candid as ever in revealing why he accepted to join Richards Bay FC on loan.
At some stage last season, Mdantsane was touted as a possible replacement for Themba Zwane in the Bafana Bafana squad by head coach Hugo Broos.

However, he was involved in a car accident during off-season and even after his return late in 2023/24, did not get any opportunities to feature under Nasreddine Nabi.
In early February, Chiefs eventually announced they had an agreement with The Natal Rich Boyz to have the former Cape Town City star for the remainder of the current season.
"Not everything will happen the way you wish, some things happen unexpectedly. I'm a professional player, I understand the situation. I can gave the supporters all I have, but the situation they are in there is pressure. I want to regain my energy so when I come back, I come back with energy," Mdantsane said on Ukhozi FM.
"I come from a very difficult situation. They (Chiefs) wouldn't risk and put me on under the pressure they are in already. So, it's important that I go to start afresh and uplift my level. That's the agreement.
"I'm grateful that they respected my decision. Supporters have their way of seeing things, but my life and career comes first."
The 30-year-old admitted no one was going to be patient with him at Amakhosi coming from a difficult situation, where he had a broken jaw.

"The team I come from (Chiefs) has too much pressure, there's no chance. So, when you come from a situation where you were disturbed, when you come back they expect you to perform now. They don't care where you come from with your situation, they want things to happen now," he explained.
Mdantsane has featured only twice for Richards Bay since his loan move, both off the bench.
He was not in the match-day squad as the KZN outfit beat Amakhosi 2-0 in the Betway Premiership on Sunday.
