Royal AM issue stern warning to Pirates

Royal AM are gearing up for their first match of the year, where they will host Orlando Pirates at the Harry Gwala Stadium on Thursday.

The KwaZulu-Ntatal outfit are set to return to action this week after their games were put on hold due to unpaid salaries to players and the technical team.

The club was placed under curatorship by the South African Revenue Services due to allegations of unpaid tax owed by the club president Shauwn Mkhize.

The players have since been paid their outstanding salaries and things are now back to normal at Thwihli Thwahla.

Club general manager Richard Makhoba has since issued a warning to Pirates ahead of their Betway Premiership encounter.

"I think it will be a tough game. We want to congratulate Pirates for their good run in the CAF Champions League. We expect a very exciting match. It's not going to be easy," Makhoba told KickOff.com.

"They are the team of the moment, but we are willing to go out there and fight. We are going to give our best shot and 90 minutes will decide the outcome of the match.

"The spirit in the camp, the players are in a good mood. The players are looking forward to the match. There is a clean bill of health, there are no injuries. We played a friendly match yesterday (Sunday) and the boys played very well and were eager to impress the technical team.
