Midfielder Linda Mntambo has thrown his support behind former Orlando Pirates hard man Thabang Monare to succeed at Sekhukhune United, where they are teammates yet again.

In penning a deal with the club, he followed in the footsteps of another former Buccaneer and long-time friend, none other than Mntambo. The pair will be teammates for the third time in their respective careers, having also played together at Jomo Cosmos.
Speaking at the club's media open day ahead of the MTN8 quarter-final against Cape Town City on Saturday, 'Figo' outlined his history and expectations for their new acquisition.
"With Thabang joining us from Pirates, myself and Thabang have a strong relationship off the field. We played together at Jomo Cosmos, at Pirates and now we are here," Mntambo explained to journalists.
"I think Thabang is a big boy, he has been in the league for many years, and he knows what he has to bring to the table.
"The other time, my colleagues were asking me, 'What can we expect?' and I said, 'You can expect nothing less than a 100% from a player of Thabang's quality'.

"He knows what he has to deliver, he knows his mandate and he knows what he has to do on the field. So, with that, I don't have a lot of problems with integrating him into the team, all he needs to do is get to know his teammates.
"But as for on the field, he knows what he needs to do," added the lanky midfielder.
The match against City will be played at the Peter Mokaba Stadium, with kick-off at 15:00.
