Tembo: 'Sekhukhune will look to attack Pirates'

Sekhukhune United coach Kaitano Tembo believes his side will be able to arrest their disappointing form in the league this season with a win over Orlando Pirates.

Sekhukhune United are set to play host to Pirates in Polokwane on Tuesday evening with Kaitano Tembo's relegation-threatened side in desperate need of three points to climb up the DStv Premiership standings.

Babina Noko currently occupy 15th position on the log, one point above bottom-of-the-table Marumo Gallants, after winning just once in their opening eight league matches for the 2022/23 campaign.

Despite this, Tembo is optimistic about his side's prospects against the high-flying Buccaneers and believes that the recent international break has given them enough time to prepare for the match in which he hopes to come away with victory.

"I think our preparations have been going very well," Tembo said. "We have had enough time to rest and to look at areas that we need to improve in as a team and things that we need to continue doing well."

"We've done that, and also had an opportunity to give time to other guys who are coming off injuries or who had those small niggling injuries to recover, and the international break gave us that opportunity.

"But you know sometimes, coming off a break like that, sometimes you have to start again and hopefully the players will be in a good mood and in a good space, looking at the nature of the opponent that we are playing against.

"We are playing against a very good team in Orlando Pirates so it puts everyone on their toes because it's a big game. We have prepared very well, the players are looking to the game and we need to play our normal attacking football because we are really in need of points, we need to win games.

"This is our home game so we can't really hold back. What's important is for us to go out there and give a performance that will give us positive results and I'm quite positive with what I've been seeing at training, that we are going go out there and play football that will give us three points."
