In this edition of Story Behind My Nickname, Sekhukhune United head coach Brandon Truter finally reveals the origin behind his unique nickname 'Brakkies'.
According to the Capetonian, he did not like the nickname at first as he did not like the idea of being likened to a breed of dog.
"Yes, the name is Brakkies, it means a small dog (laughs)," Truter tells KickOff.

"It's a dog that keeps on barking at everything that moves.
"I got it from playing football during my school days, from our football coach at primary school.
"He was making an example during a half-time talk, I also didn't like it at first.
"He said to me 'You are the Brakkies in the midfield, so keep on biting the opponents. Keep on chasing them, keep on harassing them, he said in Afrikaans.
"So, the name just stuck with me from then throughout my school days.
"All because of our football coach, Mr Frank.
"At that age, people make fun of everything, so I didn't like it at first, but it has stuck with me.
"We were a successful primary school, so all my friends kept on saying 'You are our Brakkies in the midfield so keep doing your stuff."
