'We are ready' - Mntambo on Sekhukhune's congested fixture list

Sekhukhune United captain Linda Mntambo believes his side is ready to change its fortunes despite a congested January fixture list.

Babina Noko have had underwhelming first half of the 22/23 DStv Premiership season find themselves tied on 11 points with  Bottom-of-the -table Maritzburg United. Babina Noko have won just two games from 12.

The side return to action with an action packed first week that will see them play three matches in seven days. Sekhukhune will meet AmaZulu on New Year's Eve, then Marumo Gallant on 3 January, before locking horns with Kaizer Chiefs on 7 January.

"It's nothing new. We are ready to handle back-to-back games that are coming in January. If you look at how the season started, we were playing back-to-back games," said Mntambo.

"Now during the FIFA World Cup break, we've been playing friendlies just to see how far were are in terms of fitness."

Sekhukhune has recently roped in former AmaZulu and Swallows coach Brandon Truter in a bid to turn the ship around.

"With the new coach Brandon Truter, we're also getting to know his style of play and I think we're almost there, almost ready to kick-off the first game against AmaZulu," added Figo.
