Dominic Isaacs on his best Soweto Derby

There are so many of them! One of my best was in 2010 when we beat Pirates 3-1. What can I say? I can’t describe it in words. Derbies are something else.

On the Monday morning before you won’t get injured players because everyone wants to play in the Derby. The Derby gives you a platform where you can be in the history books forever. Everyone wants to play and everyone is focused!

And everywhere you go – shops or garages – everyone is talking about the Derby and everyone wants to talk to you to motivate you. It was something big!

This was the first of the two massacres: 3-1 in the League and 3-0 in the Cup! It was on a hot Saturday afternoon in November 2010 ... striker Knowledge Musona toyed with the legendary Lucky Lekgwathi, and forced Daine Klate to get the better of Moeneeb Josephs at the near post with an own goal. What a Derby! Musona left Josephs a heartbroken man.

Hard to choose! Beating Pirates 3-0 in the Final of the Telkom Knockout in 2010, or winning the MTN8 last season by beating Pirates 1-0 ...

It has to be the year when Chiefs beat Pirates during the Telkom Knockout Final. The goals and the way they were scored made it the best game. Latest Derbies don’t have the fire anymore – they’re all about draws and no goals. So yes, the 3-0 win was great!
