Eric Tinkler praises Sifiso Myeni's derby performance

Myeni walked away with the man of the match award after an influential performance against Amakhosi.

The former Bidvest Wits midfielder was unlucky to see his long range shot deflect off a defender before hitting the crossbar in the 65th minute.

Tinkler believes Myeni is getting closer to his best form, which earned him a move to the Buccaneers in 2012.

"I think his performance [on Saturday] was fantastic,” said Tinkler.

"I know, and the technical team knows, what [Myeni] is capable of.

“Sometimes when we put players on the bench and don't give them opportunity to regain confidence its more detrimental than doing any good.

"I had experience of what he is capable of (while at Wits) and I insist on playing him, and giving him the opportunity to regain his form, and I think you saw that [on Saturday],” he added.

After missing the second half of the 2011/12 season due to injury, Myeni is currently in his third season at the Houghton-based club.
