Eric Tinkler says Tendai Ndoro can score 9 times out of 10 shots

Ndoro struck twice to knock Kaizer Chiefs out of the Nedbank Cup on Saturday afternoon, and the coach believes he is working harder all round.

“Tendai’s work-rate needed to increase. We’re a team in which everybody needs to work, and we can see he is doing that now,” Tinkler told SuperSport.

“Also, we know he has great ability in front of goals, and when he gets the opportunity he must shoot because we know that nine out of 10 times he will hit the back of the net.

“But the most important is his work-rate, which we are now seeing from him, and the way he expresses himself, which is also very important.”

On the match, Tinkler added: “We started the game very well. Tendai created a chance on his own in the opening couple of minutes of the game, then in the seventh minute there was a cross that I felt Gift Motupa should have put away.

“We could have found ourselves in the lead very early, which is what we tried to do – that was basically our plan and preparation ahead of the game. After that we lost our focus, our discipline, and they started to dominate a lot more and looked a lot more threatening.

“But at half-time we rectified it; I explained the importance of coming out and starting well, which is what we did. Our confidence grew, particularly after the goal that Tendai scored, and I though the second goal was also a fantastic goal. I’m very proud of the boys … it was a good performance today.”
