Former Chiefs and Pirates star Ndlanya predicts a derby draw

While Kaizer Chiefs are tucked in neatly behind the League leaders in fourth place, Orlando Pirates have struggled as they negotiate a crowded League schedule, catching up matches that were postponed because of their run to the CAF Confederation Cup Final.

The Buccaneers’ disappointing 2-0 home defeat to Golden Arrows has left many supporters nervous, and the Phefeni Glamour Boys go into this afternoon’s match as favorites.

But Ndlanya, who played for both Chiefs and  Pirates during his career says form counts for little in the Derby.

“The Derby is a totally different game. You cant judge who is going to win today based on past results.

“There is lot at stake, the pride and the fans" … and it’s going to be tough. I think it’s going to be a draw.

“I know both coaches’ mentality; both will be scared to lose and will prefer to secure a point,” Ndlanya insists.
