Kaizer Chiefs will face Pirates at FNB Stadium on Saturday, with 'Shabba' in line to make his 28th appearance in the country's flagship fixture.
“It’s huge when we face each other," Tshabalala told his club's website.
“There is a great history behind the teams and the tradition, the rivalry, the success of both teams and the huge followings that each team has – that makes this a game big in all aspects.
“It’s the kind of game where players with big-match temperament succeed. Against Pirates we always have to bring our A-game. I enjoy playing against them and look forward to Saturday’s game.”
The 32-year-old is reading little into the three straight draws recorded by Bucs, who are spearheaded by PSL top scorer Tendai Ndoro. The Zimbabwean hitman has netted six goals from five league games.
“Both teams have quality squads. Pirates, despite having drawn their last three league games, can inflict major damage on their opponents. In the Derby, form really counts for nothing.”
Tshabalala added of Muhsin Ertugral's side: “They are good ball players. They have been impressive offensively. We also have been in a good way recently and while we are wary of them, we will continue doing what has worked for us and we will look to build on what we have achieved so far.”
The Glamour Boys top the standings with 13 points from six games, having registered clean sheets in five consecutive victories in all competitions.
The Sea Robbers have nine points from five matches, and snapped their string of stalemates with a 2-1 win over Golden Arrows in their Telkom Knockout opener this past Sunday.
