Qalinge, who has been getting game-time recently at the Buccaneers, is set to make his second appearance in the showpiece fixture.
His first showing was as a late substitute in the 1-0 defeat to Chiefs in the 2014 MTN8 final, and he is excited at the prospect of potentially starting against the Glamour Boys on the weekend.
“I haven't played derbies before. I know I played while I was at Aces when we played against Witbank Spurs in the National First Division,” Qalinge says.
“But here we are talking about a big derby against Chiefs and it concerns us as players, especially when we are coming from a loss against Jomo Cosmos.
“But we will try by all means to follow instructions from the coach so that we can get better results in the upcoming games.”
Meanwhile, the former Mpumalanga Black Aces man thanked his teammates for lifting his spirits during his time on the sidelines at Mayfair.
“My teammates have played a big role in terms of the hard times in the team and also the management and the coach.
“They have been patient with me. They had hope and I must thank them for that also.
“It didn't cross my mind that I may have made a wrong choice by coming here. I knew when I came here that I needed to fight for my place.
“I knew there was competition and I like that because it's good where there is competition.”
