Despite no formal announcement from the Premier Soccer League, Pirates have released a statement on their official website revealing that their opening Absa Premiership fixture will be at home to Golden Arrows on August 24.
Three days later the Buccaneers will visit last season's runners-up Bidvest Wits in their MTN8 quarter-final at the Bidvest Stadium, before traveling to the Mother City for a meeting with Ajax Cape Town on September 9.
Muhsin Ertugral's side will then welcome former coach Eric Tinkler's Cape Town City to Orlando Stadium, followed by a re-match with the Clever Boys in a league encounter at the same venue.
On September 27, Bucs will clash with Platinum Stars to complete a jam-packed opening month of fixtures.
Pirates host Kaizer Chiefs in the first Absa Premiership derby of the season on Saturday, October 29, while a clash with reigning league champions Mamelodi Sundowns has been set for December 16, also known to South Africans as 'Day of Reconciliation'.
The PSL season will again come to a halt in January, this time for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon, and will resume in February with the Sea Robbers travelling to Rustenburg to face Dikwena in their return league fixture.
The second and final league derby has been set for March 4, before Pirates round off their 2016/17 campaign with a trip to Kwa-Zulu Natal-based Arrows later on.
