Tefu Mashamaite not worried about Lehlohonolo Majoro

‘Major’ has netted 11 times in all competitions for the Buccaneers this season, but ‘Masha’ insists that focusing on their former teammate will not be the right approach.

“It is not about individuals. He is an old teammate, but he forms part of the [Pirates] team and if we take care of their team, then I don’t have to worry about Majoro,” Mashamaite argues.

The 30-year-old further says Chiefs are motivated by their desire to make up for what happened last season. Amakhosi failed to win any trophies in the past campaign, but they have already won the MTN8 trophy this season.

Mashamaite warns: “It is not about the Derby, it is about the three points. You have to remember that we are coming off from a disappointing season so there is a bit of an anger there.

“If you are angry you just want to murder everything and I’m not saying we are going to murder Pirates, but that’s just the kind of energy that we have. We don’t want what happened last season to happen again.”

Chiefs currently top the Absa Premiership standings with 50 points from 21 matches, while their rivals Pirates have 36 points from the same number of matches.
