Pirates find themselves reaching the halfway mark of the league in the bottom half of the standings and battling to dust off the hangover of reaching the CAF Confederation Cup final.
So bad is Bucs' situation that they have only won once in their last eight games and following a depressing defeat to Jomo Cosmos last Saturday, Matlaba revealed a ‘players only meeting’ was held to discuss the slump.
“We had a meeting as players after the Cosmos game and we spoke about why we are losing so much. It was a meeting for players only without coaches,” says Matlaba.
“We spoke about the problems that we have in the team and so going into this game [against Kaizer Chiefs] I think those problems are now solved and it is going to be a good game on Saturday.”
Saturday’s match at FNB Stadium kicks off at 15h30.
