Khune reclaimed the number one jersey for the first time since a long-term injury in the League game against Ajax Cape Town in midweek.

The former Bafana Bafana captain is favoured to retain his place as the Phefeni Glamour Boys take on Orlando Pirates aiming to extend their lead on top of the Absa Premiership table on Saturday.

"There is no better moment than this one. He has been hungry for action as Brilliant Khuzwayo has done exceptionally well in his absence," Shongwe tells snl24.com/kickoff.

"This is the time to put everything on bed to say he is still the number one keeper at Chiefs. The game against Pirates needs players with character and Khune is one of those including [Tefu] Mashamaite, [Willard] Katsande and also the return of 'Yeye' [Letsholonyane] brings that balance to Chiefs' lineup," he adds.

Shongwe believes Pirates are going to the Soweto Derby with a slight edge over Chiefs.

"There is lot at stake. Pirates are enjoying the momentum. Chiefs want to prove sceptics wrong after a slow start in the new year. This is a fantastic time for these two teams to meet on Saturday," says Cool Cat.
