The entrepreneurial footballer took a plunge into the fashion industry in 2012, launching his own clothing line labelled ‘Ballo-Joro’.
“I’m a person who likes clothes and sportswear, so what better way than having your own clothing line?” Majoro explains. “Looking at current products and wanting to change and alter certain aspects made me want to have my own clothing line, and have a form of identity.
"I also wanted to cater to my loyal fans, to give them something that comes from me personally. Everyone thinks of getting a club jersey, but that doesn’t cater for everyone, so my own clothing line solves that problem.”
And now, with his product attracting widespread attention, Major reveals that he’s busy preparing to take the next step in his unique venture.
“My clothing line was doing well, and went beyond my expectations,” he says. “The demand didn’t match the supply, which became a bit of a problem. What was also problematic was the fact that my designer had his own clothing line, which made it a challenge to produce for both himself and me, so we’ve now decided to venture into the same company. We’ve been working together for four years now, and I can only pray for good things to come.”
Since joining from Orlando Pirates at the start of the season, ‘Major’ has netted five goals in 18 starts for the Citizens, who currently top the Absa premiership standings.
