PSL stars show off unique face masks

Local stars like Thembinkosi Lorch and Thabo Matlaba could enter a contest for the best-looking face masks they are wearing during lockdown.

As confirmed cases of coronavirus continue to rise each day all over the whole world, PSL footballers have also heeded the government's call for everyone to wear a face mask out in public.

Even though the masks don't protect people from getting sick, they help prevent the spread of the virus.

Orlando Pirates superstar Lorch says he prefers this kind of mask that costs about R15. "Because that one is the proper one," Lorch tells snl24.com/kickoff.

In true Mzansi style, masks are coming in all shapes, sizes and fashion.

Knox Mutizwa of Golden Arrows says: "I just liked it because I saw it's simple and comfortable. And I like it because it's not a single layer. I have like three and I have gone out of my house two times."

Ajax Cape Town striker Eleazar Rodgers reveals that his mother made his mask for him.

"I prefer this mask because it's homemade. My mom and sis made it for me. This one is white with black stripes. If I could choose, I'd choose red and white," he says.

"I only use it when I go out to the shop and when I drive with my mom. It's washable."

Last week news surfaced that Pirates midfielder Ben Motshwari has tested positive for the disease, but he is recovering well and in good spirits during self-isolation.
