Stellenbosch have confirmed the signing of former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Darrel Matsheke as coach Steve Barker continues to bolster following the departure of Sibongiseni Mthethwa.
Matsheke joins on a free transfer following the end of his deal with Amakhosi. The 24-year-old spent the previous campaign with Moroka Swallows on a season long loan.

Stellies were left without depth in their midfield when Kaizer Chiefs triggered Mthethwa's buy-out clause with Barker admitting Matsheke is a welcome addition to the defensive midfielder role.
"Darrel adds quality and depth to our midfield positions, specifically as a defensive midfielder," Barker said.
"He is technically sound, plays with a lot of energy and intensity, and has the ability to break down attacks, and once he has done that he has the ability to then progress the ball either through the quality of his passing or by carrying the ball.
"We welcome him to the SFC family and are confident that he will add much value to our squad."
