Stellies confirm early termination of Moseamedi's contract

Stellenbosch FC have officially parted ways with Judas Moseamedi after agreeing to the early termination of the striker's contract.

Moseamedi will be on the move again during the January transfer window after his contract with Winelands-based side Stellenbosch FC was terminated by mutual agreement on Thursday.

As previously reported by KickOff, the 28-year-old's departure was confirmed within the club earlier this month and he has been linked with a move to either high-flying Richards Bay and Maritzburg United.

"Stellenbosch FC can confirm that we have come to a mutual agreement with Judas Moseamedi for the early termination of his contract," Stellenbosch FC said in a statement on Tuesday.

"Judas scored 6 goals in 32 appearances during his time at the club. We thank Judas and wish him well."

Moseamedi joined Stellies from Maritzburg United in 2021 and scored six goals in 32 appearances for the club, often being deployed in a so-called super-sub role by coach Steve Barker.

All six of his strikes, which included a brace in last year's Cape Derby win over Cape Town City, came off the bench which is a club record for goals scored by a substitute since Stellenbosch FC were founded back in 2016.
