Gabuza keeping options open ahead of expected transfer

Experienced striker Thamsanqa Gabuza reveals that he is keeping his options open ahead of an expected transfer move since his departure from DStv Premiership side SuperSport United.

The much-beloved Gabuza became a free agent at the end of the 2022/23 DStv Premiership season after Tshwane side SuperSport United decided against renewing his contract with the club.

The 35-year-old is joined by teammate Aubrey Ngoma who also has finalised his exit from SuperSport as head coach Gavin Hunt streamlines his squad.

Gabuza has been strongly linked with a switch to Stellenbosch FC with a previously proposed January transfer failing to be finalised on transfer deadline day.

The former Orlando Pirates striker was also linked with a return to KwaZulu-Natal with several teams reported to be interested, among them AmaZulu.

'Ganda Ganda' as Gabuza is affectionately known was recently spotted training with former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Andile Jali at a Virgin Active branch in Johannesburg on Wednesday.

"Yes, I am keeping myself fit at the moment," Gabuza tells KickOff.

"There is no update at the moment. I will keep waiting in the meantime.

Jali meanwhile, is also set to imminently make a final decision on his future with several top-flight sides, including former team Orlando Pirates following his situation.
