Hunt: The young boys are learning

SuperSport United head coach Gavin Hunt has revealed what is costing his side, who have not won a league match in 2024.

SuperSport's winless run in the league stretched to nine matches after a penalty converted by Terrence Dzvukamanja on either side of Chiefs goals by Christian Saile and Mduduzi Shabalala was not enough.

SuperSport's last victory in the DStv Premiership was back in 2023 and that form has seen the club slip out of contention for a continental slot.

"Disappointed, I thought we did very well you know, we showed what we're about. Before the goal went in you should have just turned with the ball and score, they went the other side and scored, so that's what is happening. But I'm proud of the players, they worked hard," Hunt said on SuperSport.

Hunt brought on some experience after going to the half-time break a goal down in the likes of Terrence Dzvukamanja and Lyle Lakay but says it's not enough to balance his team that is full of youngsters.

"We had to do it, we were good, we were much better but hey we're not scoring, it doesn't give us anything and obviously everything they hit goes in so it's unfortunate.

"But these young boys are learning, they rather do it now than later. Learn as we go along. A lot of them are gonna make mistakes, the second goal as well. Disappointed but we have to do it this way.

"We're disappointed but the attitude is good, the mentality is good, we're working hard but we've got to suffer because you're playing against seasoned players, it's costing us," he added
