Johnson reveals how Hunt turned things around at SuperSport United

SuperSport United goalkeeper coach Grant Johnson credits the arrival of Gavin Hunt for the club's good performances so far this season.

Though he admits it is still early, Johnson is very much happy with how things are turning out under Hunt.

SuperSport currently sit third in the DStv Premiership log table and looks like they will be competing for the league title.

"I think Gavin Hunt is bringing a lot of experience and he's been in the game for a long time," Johnson tells KickOff.

"He's won quite a few league titles, so he's bringing all this experience to the game.

"And it's not only about coaching but the management of the team, and bringing in players and knowing which players are available to be signed.

"I'm not even sure the new signings would have happened if it wasn't for him.

"He plays a big role on and off the pitch. So yes, his being here made a big difference.

"Yes, I think it is still a bit early and premature to say we've got everything under control, we've had good results and we've been playing well.

"I think there are one or two signings that we made, and they have made a big difference.

"It gives us a good balance between youth and experience.

"So ja it's looking good, but at the same time too early to say we got it sorted. The two next games before the World Cup are important.

"We need to keep converting our chances and keep clean sheets, I mean we've been conceding silly goals every game.

"And you'll notice every game we played this season we've been playing pretty much a different team every game.

"Our bench is looking much stronger as well, we've got a lot more depth on the bench which allows us to do decent changes during a game."
