Grobler would score 30 goals at Sundowns

SuperSport United hitman Bradley Grobler has been lauded for his goalscoring abilities with a bold claim being made about what would have been happening if he had been at Mamelodi Sundowns this season.

Grobler is keeping on with what he has always been doing – banging goals with his seven this season keeping him in the chase for the Golden Boot award race which is led by Peter Shalulile.

The 34-year-old is also keeping his interest of reaching 100 goals playing for a South African topflight club.

He is currently on 96.

"If Bradley was playing for Sundowns, he would score 30 goals this season because of the opportunities that he would be getting," says Stan Matthews, the SuperSport United CEO.

"The fact that he is one or two behind Shalulile, for me it speaks a lot about Bradley Grobler and what he has been to the football club.

"Bradley is the top scorer in the history of the football club, and he is coming up to 100 goals in the PSL which should be an unbelievable milestone for him.

"I think in a small way he is one of the unsung heroes of the PSL because he played at a small club like us but if Bradley was playing at (Kaizer) Chiefs, (Orlando) Pirates or Sundowns he would be a massive legend with the number of goals he has scored.

"To win the golden boot at a club like SuperSport that never won anything that season is tremendous," says Matthews.
