Hunt: 'It's a missed opportunity'

A deflated Gavin Hunt said he was disappointed after his SuperSport United side crashed out of the Carling Knockout Cup after a 4-1 defeat to an impressive Polokwane City at the TUT Stadium on Sunday.

In a surprise result, the in-form Matsatsantsa were comfortably beaten by Lehlohonolo Seema's hard-working side.

"This game is a missed opportunity, so we're disappointed," Hunt said post-match.

"I'm very disappointed, but it is what it is.

"We can't take the fact that we're lying third in the league, and we finished third last season with the same bunch of players.

"We're punching way, way above where we should be.

"But you don't expect a result like this.

"We should be better, far better and weren't."
