SuperSport United midfielder Siphesihle Ndlovu has named football legend Teko Modise as his childhood idol while revealing a humorous story on how he was at the end of a beating by his mother for drawing his hero.
Ndlovu has been one of the stand-out performers for Matsatsantsa this season, making 21 appearances since jointing the Pretoria outfit in September.

The 2018 PSL Young Player of the season has opened on another award winning midfielder he idolised growing up in Teko Modise.
"That's a funny story actually, I got a beating for drawing Teko," Ndlovu tells KickOff when asked on his childhood idol.
"I was a bit of a naughty child and so I had drawn like a picture of Modise and (Reneilwe) Letsholonyane on my mother's cupboard. They (Modise and Lotsholonyane) were big that time but she wasn't pleased at all, so yes I got a hiding for that one (laughs)."

Modise won the PSL Footballer of the Season back-to-back in 2008 and 2009 is regarded as one the best talent to come out of South Africa.
"When you look at how Teko used to play, he was a boss type of player. When he was on the ball, you could see that the guy is confident," Ndlovu.
"He could do what he wanted to do. He could dictate the pace of the game and in some matches, honestly, it looked like he was running the show by himself."
"As much as he wasn't that marking player (tracking-back) or something but on the ball, what he was contributing was massive."
