Luke Fleurs on learning from former Pirates star

Supersport United's centre-back Luke Fleurs has revealed that he's picked up some notes from former Pirates defender and current teammate Tyson Hlatshwayo.

Gavin Hunt roped in Hlatshwayo following a shock exit from the Buccaneers at the start of the season. The 32-year-old slotted right in the SuperSport United defence.

Although the pair are vying for the position, Fleurs insisted he's learning a lot from the experienced Hlatshwayo.

"I'm not personally nice [good at] communicating and he's a person that's always communicating and trying to be the leader and of course, as a centre-back, you want to be a leader one day," Fleurs told KickOff.

"For me, now I'm 22, so I hope to be a leader someday as soon as possible. I'm trying my best to go in that direction."

"I'm up for becoming a leader, so I'm learning a lot from him on becoming a leader."

Fleurs is the reigning PSL Young Footballer of the Season after a stellar campaign for Matsatsantsa last season but has featured just five times for Matsatsantsa this season.

With his contract expiring at the end of the season, Fleurs has been linked with some of the top teams in the country.

Meanwhile, the 22-year-old returned to training with the rest of the SuperSport United squad on Tuesday.
