SuperSport get busy in transfer window

The transfer deadline activity has seen SuperSport United agree to open the exit for one Iqraam Rayners.

SuperSport have just welcomed Zakhele Lepasa on loan from Orlando Pirates in a deal running up to the end of the season just days after Senegalese striker Serigne Momour Niang was signed.

This has then triggered the club's option to trade in Rayners who has been on the wanted list of his former club Stellenbosch for weeks for now.

Matsatsantsa remain comfortable with the options that they still have in attack even with the prospect of Thamsanqa Gabuza also leaving.

In a deal completed on deadline day, Rayners is heading back to his former employers two-and-a-half years since he left.

His departure from SuperSport is rather surprising considering the energy he brought to the club's attack with his pace and already had five assists in 13 league games this season without having played a game from start to finish.

Through his time with Matsatsantsa he scored five goals in 58 appearances and now returns to the Cape Winelands faced with adding firepower to the club's attack.

Meanwhile, SuperSport have confirmed the arrival of Lepasa after Pirates made the announcement earlier in the day.

"I'm very excited to be here and I'm hoping to add value in the team especially upfront and getting results.

"I'm looking forward to meeting the Matsatsantsa fans this weekend when we play Cape Town City and I promise to give my all during my stay.

"I have heard from a couple of my teammates that he is a very direct coach who knows what he wants and so I just hope that it works out for me," he says.
