In our latest feature of Where Are They Now, KickOff catches up with former SuperSport United player Pitso Lekone on his life after football.
The former Bafana Bafana player reveals what he is up to these days.
Who am I?
"I started playing professionally at Free State Stars, and went to SuperSport United, Moroka Swallows and retired at FC AK. It was in 2008 when I retired.
"My biggest achievement in football was the three caps with Bafana Bafana. I was also a runner-up twice in the league while I was still at SuperSport under Pitso Mosimane."
My playing days?
"We played football at the wrong time. There was no money in football during our time.
"Our start-up salary was R1500 per month. That alone shows that there was no money in football those days."
Where I'm living
"I'm in Orange Farm. I'm staying with my family."
Jobs since playing the game?
"I've always been in coaching. I have coached at FC AK, Swallows FC, and also at the Vodacom League."
My current job?
"I have started a Foundation with Bennet Chenene, we are organising tournaments for our kasi.
"I'm also an ambassador for Built-It. That is what I do at the moment."
If I could do it again
"I would change my lifestyle. I lived a normal lifestyle, I was a township guy, and I enjoyed going out with Amajita in my kasi.
"We didn't drink much, but we loved going out a lot."
