In this edition of Supporters Forum, KickOff speaks to Moroka Swallows's die-hard supporter Mthofi Dlamini about his long-standing affair with the Dube Birds.
Name of Supporter
"My name is Mthofi Dlamini, I'm based in Johannesburg, but my home is in KZN in Mlazi.
"Job hunting is what brought me to Johannesburg."
Club supported?
"I grew up supporting no other club but Swallows. Those days Televisions were scarce, we would watch matches in nearby sheebens and watch matches.
"That's the day I fell in love with Moroka Swallows. Marcus Mphafudi was still at Swallows."
How long supported?
"From 1987. I'm now 42 years old."
Are you happy with the bosses?
"I'm not happy at all about the Swallows bosses, for example, the good players we lost in January.
"The boss didn't even try to convince them to stay, it was also painful to see the club letting go of a coach like Steve Komphela.
"That alone showed just how clueless is our chairman is when it comes to the game."
Are you happy with the coach?
"What supporters should understand is that Musa Nyatama is a caretaker coach, so he is trying, he has managed a few wins here and there.
"He has managed to avoid relegation, that shows he learned from the likes of Steve Komphela."
Are you happy with the players?
"I'm not happy with the current squad, we haven't bought any player, and even in our games the lack of experience shows.
"We need to sign more players as soon as the new season comes."
Who do you want them to sign?
"We understand Swallows are not financially okay, but they must try to get back Dillan Solomons and Njabulo Ngcobo from Kaizer Chiefs. It's not like they are getting game time over there."
Your message to the team?
"We appreciate their effort, they managed to avoid relegation, I believe next season they will do better than they did last year.
"We understand their situation."
