Each jersey was inspired by iconic past designs and has been recreated with a modern twist, using 21st century innovation for a progressive feel.
"Adidas has created so many products, innovations and looks through the decades which became true icons in the football world. We want to celebrate those icons in the world of today," said Senior Design Director, Juergen Rank.
"The fans feel the same way, they have the desire for authenticity and progression. They want something they immediately can identify with but at the same time it needs to contain the latest innovations and technologies of today.
"We bring the needs for the players and fans together, the needs for on pitch and off pitch, the needs for the stadium and the streets."
The new home kit for current holders Germany is a modern interpretation of one of the country’s most famous jerseys worldwide, the iconic 1990 shirt with which 'Die Mannschaft' won their third world title in Italy.
Host nation Russia’s home kit is a modern interpretation of the jersey worn by the Soviet Union during the 1988 Olympic Games, where the team won Gold.
The new Argentina home kit is a celebration of the AFA’s 125-year anniversary, while the Spain home shirt pays homage to one of the country’s most famous shirts, the jersey worn at the 1994 World Cup in the USA, where they exited at the quarter-final stage.
The new Colombia jersey is a contemporary take on their most iconic home shirt from the 1990 FIFA World Cup in Italy, where they were eliminated at the quarter-finals.
Japan's new home shift takes inspiration from handcrafted Japanese Apparel Design, with the graphic mimicking the traditional craftsmanship of Sashiko stitching technique, which is made by white rough threads on indigo dyed base.
Inspired by designs from the early 1990’s, the Mexico home jersey is the perfect transition from the stadium to the street.
