Arsenal, adidas unveil new 2019/2020 away kit

The Londoners ended their long-standing affiliation with PUMA ahead of the new season after announcing their collaboration with German sportswear manufacturer adidas for the first time since 1994.

The 2018/19 UEFA Europa League runners-up took to their official social media accounts to unveil their new away strip, which is inspired by one of the club's most iconic jerseys of all time.

"The design features a modern twist on the historic 'bruised banana' graphic," a statement on the club's official website read.

"A minimal, shaded zig-zag pattern adorns the famous bright yellow of the Arsenal away shirt.

"The revived and redesigned kit for this season, previously a symbol of the adidas and Arsenal partnership, brings the past into the present with this bold new design."

Arsenal will debut their new away "bruised banana" kit in a pre-season friendly against Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich on 18 July, while Premier League fans will get their first viewing of the iconic kit when the Gunners face Newcastle United on matchday one of the new season on 11 August.
