Nike explain new technology behind Hypervenom 3 boots

The duo were present at the official launch at the Rashid Cassim Sports Footwear distributors in Johannesburg on Wednesday, February 1, and spoke on their experience with the cleat.

"It's an awesome boot and it's very comfortable. Credit must go to Nike for putting together such an awesome product," Parker told snl24.com/kickoff as he admired his new Hypervenom 3.

"New boots always get me excited, even for training, and I'm looking forward to giving them a run in our first game of 2017 against Free State Stars [tonight]."

Nike South Africa Ekin, Bongani Mahlangu, also gave a bit more insight into the innovations of the third generation Hypervenom.

"The traction in a boot is always important for a striker, and the Hypervenom 3 features something called a HyperReactive plate – this means the sole plate literally bends in any direction to allow the player to move seemlessly," he explained.

"Underneath, the Hypervenom 3 features two different stud types – the round ones, which are called conical studs, and then it also has hexagonal studs. The concial studs promote agility, while the hexagonal ones serve to keep a player from slipping.

"The top of the boot features little pods, which help with a players first touch and control of the ball when shooting, and this is a first for the Hepervenom."

Parker can be seen in action in his new boots when Amakhosi host Ea Lla Koto at the FNB Stadium on Wednesday evening, with kick-off scheduled for 19h30.
