A population can be divided by a simple logo displayed across their chest on their shirts on derby days. While in the 21st century, it's become somewhat of a fashion statement.
In the early days of football before the '60s clubs were said to have only worn badges on their shirts for special occasions, like cup finals and title-winning games. This was a simple design of perhaps the town or city's coat of arms.

After 14-million votes were cased, Spanish publication Marca posted a list of the most beautiful badges in world football, which showcased the likes of Real and fierce rivals FC Barcelona.
And between some of the most historic club's names were record-eight time African Champions Al Ahly... who were surprisingly beaten by another club on the continent.
