WATCH: Lyle Foster tests out the adidas Deadly Strike Nemeziz

Foster has shot to stardom since his promotion to the Bucs first team last year, becoming the German sportswear giants’ key asset in South Africa and the flagship footballer to don their latest ‘Deadly Strike’ Nemeziz football boots.

Adidas launched the latest instalment of their Nemeziz boot range in the build-up to this year’s FIFA World Cup, which kicks off in just over a month’s time in Russia.

The 17-year-old frontman, who is currently in camp with the national under-20 team as they prepare for an U-20 AFCON qualifier against Mozambique, offered us some insight on his new tools.

Check out the exclusive footage shot at the adidas Football Base in Johannesburg, as Foster gets a feel for the Deadly Strike Nemeziz below:

“For me the ‘Deadly Strike’ Nemeziz is a very comfortable boot that sits very nicely. It helps me with certain aspects of my game, like turning, shooting and my first touch,” says Foster.

“The grip of the boot and the way the studs are designed makes it easy to turn and take off [in a sprint], and just everything about the boot – the fit especially, is what I love.”

As a striker, Foster also feels the Nemeziz is the right boot for him as it offers great assistance in his particular style of play.

“You need to wear the correct boot for the correct job, because you can’t be a teacher and try to teach with a hammer. You need to use the correct tools,” jokes the teenager.

“So, for me, the Nemeziz is the right tool. It’s important that I used the right boots because, if I don’t, I might cost the team.

“One thing that I also like is the variation of studs – the SG [Soft Ground] and the FG [Firm Ground] – for different types of pitches, so it’s good to use regardless of what the surface is like.”
